Montrell

Smith

My name is Montrell Smith, and I am a Human Relations Representative II (Discrimination Complainants Investigator) with the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission. Currently, in my role, I investigated complaints of discrimination based on harassment, sexual harassment, race, sex, and retaliation. I am a recently enrolled transfer student at Millersville University, studying business management. I aim to complete my bachelor's degree by spring 2025 and begin studying for a master's degree in human resource management. Working at the Commission has given me a new aspiration to understand discrimination and the many different ways one can be discriminated against. I have a newfound interest in helping others who are discriminated against. I hope that by attending the Martin Luther King Leadership Development Institute, I gain knowledge and skills to enhance my investigative skills in my current role. I hope to use my good listening and communication skills to engage in the program
